Rooted in memory,
guided by knowledge

My journey began in Ecuador and has unfolded over the last 17 years in the United States, shaping me into a bilingual immigrant, a mother, and a dedicated psychotherapist.

As a Latina woman, I bring a nuanced understanding of how race, class, spirituality, gender, and sexual identity influence our lives. My therapeutic style is direct, dynamic, and deeply kind.

I don't just listen; I collaborate with you to release stuck survival energy and build profound emotional stability.

An Embodied Path to Healing

Delia Asquel is the founder and clinical director of Kayari. Her work emerges from the meeting point of science, embodiment, memory, and territory. She is a PhD Candidate in Health at Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar (Quito, Ecuador) and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Political Science from the Universidad Central del Ecuador.

Trained in Ecuador and the United States, Delia is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California with professional credentials in Ecuador, and completed her Community Mental Health training at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS).

Her therapeutic approach integrates somatic and attachment-based practices—including Somatic Experiencing®, EMDR, Brainspotting, PACT, and Dynamic Attachment Repatterning—with ancestral knowledge and critical inquiry.
